Through this collaboration, Alfa Laval will integrate Acerinox's low-emission stainless steel, EcoACX®, into the manufacturing of its gasketed plate heat exchangers.
Alfa Laval’s plate heat exchangers are essential components used in virtually every industry worldwide where heating, cooling, evaporating, condensing, or recovering heat is required. This includes the food, energy, data center, and building industries, among others.
This collaboration unites innovation in sustainable materials with advanced heat transfer technology to deliver high-efficiency solutions with a significantly reduced carbon footprint. It serves as an immediate response to today's greatest industrial challenge: the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
As part of its active commitment to climate solutions, Acerinox has redefined stainless steel manufacturing through the development of EcoACX®. This innovative product stands out for being composed of 90% recycled material, achieving a 50% reduction in its carbon footprint compared to standard steel, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality, durability, and technical performance intact.
Alfa Laval, which is on a journey of reducing the environmental impact of its products, has chosen EcoACX® to accelerate its climate commitments. By incorporating this material into a significant number of the channel plates in its gasketed plate heat exchangers, the company not only helps its customers optimize operational energy efficiency but also drastically decreases the carbon footprint in the upstream phases of the supply chain.
With this collaboration, Acerinox and Alfa Laval demonstrate that the transition toward a clean industry is not a future plan, but a commercial reality available today through the choice of responsible materials.
About Alfa Laval: As a global leader in heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling technologies, Alfa Laval is set on helping billions of people get the energy, food, and clean water they need. And, at the same time, decarbonize the marine fleet that’s the backbone of global trade.
